About a year or so ago I bought an unusual little Triumph motorcycle, which I was told was Don Vensco's street ride. Yes, the famous Don Vesco who won Daytona and set land speed records at Bonneville.
Anyway, this little bike is pretty unusual. As far as I can tell, and I haven't yet had the time to really dig into it, the frame is a sprung hub 3T, the engine is a 650 and it has high pipes. The overall style is a bobber, very short and tight.
I spoke with Vesco's pal Gordon Menzie who said he also owned the bike and that it was built by famous West Coast tuners in the 1960s out of a bunch of spares they had in their race shops.
Anyone know anything more about this unique little hot rod? And no, it is not for sale.
Thanks,
Buzz Kanter
