Recently acquired a pre unit Tirumph motor, primary side and transmision for spare parts. Tag on the mag says competition. Anybody know how this differs from regular period Lucas mag? (mid 1950s) Thanks, John Hasty

Humm...yup that would do it. Brit bike looks kinda slim on the vincent posts? I think alot of people just kinda gloss over basic questions. I could have told you fatter spark but was not sure of the technical details. I was also considering how it may affect the plugs re: heat range. I don't want to give advice re this incase you burn a piston.

I'm a firm beliver in pulling plugs 1/4 mile and reading them. test,adjust,read.test,adjust,read. rinse repeat.
