    1929 Matchless X

anyone know of any other Match;ess X models in the US? I imported a very clean one with a Dusting sidecar from Australia a couple of years ago. I sowed it at the Greenwich (Connecticut) Concours early June, where it blew away all the car guys and earned a trophy.
I'm looking for oter owners and all possible info on this model.
I'm planning on showing it at this year's Gotham Motorcycle Classic (www.gothammc.com) on the Intrepid aircraft carrier in New York City, October 9 and 10, 2004.

    Buzz:

I have a '42 G3L, but we Matchless guys should stick together, right? Check out the Matchless and AJS Prewar and WB group at

      Hi Buzz
John Eagles, Indian expert and past National Board member, who lives in L.A., has a very nice example of a model X. He's in the Roster.

Bob Currie, first editor of " The Classic Motorcycle" magazine thought the Matchless Model X was a better bike than the Brough Superior SS80 which used basically the same engine !
