    Mid 20’s Henderson Deluxe

    Good morning ! A few parts questions….

Looking for a cam pad spring k-1617 . A picture would be helpful as well . Size, dimensions, vendor or other place to find a good replacement ?

Also , difference between cam brake pad old style k162 and new style k-151 ? What’s the modern pad equivalent ?

Lastly , I need a crank drive gear k1306 with spiral gears. Have one mounted on an old crank (in a case ) . Can’t seem to remove . Have pullers but tough to access . Thoughts ?

Is a kj crank drive gear the same ?

    Thanks

Dan, Excelsior called that the "cam silencer" and it was introduced sometime in 1924 (Ex didn't go by year). It looks just like the cam brake assembly my KJ used but I don't know if they were interchangeable, however, knowing the ethos of Ignaz Schwinn and Excelsior, I would say they were the same. I would post a picture of the Deluxe version but my stinkin' scanner is giving my computer the silent treatment. The cam brake is a simple device that puts spring pressure (via a friction material faced paddle) on the cam gear and helps minimize tappet noise. That must have been a problem on earlier Hendersons but I haven't ridden my Hens far enough to know if that was a nagging problem.
