Thanks for the compliments, and pictures of your 1919 and earlier timing cover, Barry. I have one like it and had fantasies of converting it to a generator cover, however, even though I could make the parts, I am a terrible welder, and even worse with tig and dirty oily cast aluminum. There are welder artists out there that excel at that, but that ain't me. . . While you're here, Barry; I want to say that I take old issues of our club magazine into the tiled palace of deep thought and this week I had the 'Spring 1993 issue of our AMCA Antique Motorcycle in that environment(?). You wrote an article about your Crocker that is one of my favorite first person articles on our beloved passion. You went into the pursuit, haggling, and personalities of the whole process of acquiring your Crocker and that is something you rarely get out of people that beat the bushes for old bikes. Okay, that was 33 years ago and diligent enthusiasts like yourself were still finding pure examples of great old objects but that doesn't make the hunt you went on, anymore easy. I so admire that you wrote a detailed and honest story about that adventure which was fun to read and had a great result. I just wanted to compliment you on your well written story, and that it still is out there in this crazy world of 2026 !
