  • 1925ish Excelsior Super X update

I posted a while back showing a basket case Super X I picked up so this is an update after working on it off and on. I ended up buying another basket for parts since some parts are hard to find. And I realize that this is a pieced together from all the early years of the Supers so don't beat me up over it. I'm hoping for a good running unique bike that will run down the road reliably and I'm almost there! Motor and mag are done as are the wheels. The second basket came with an original paint tank that I'm painting the fenders and chain guard to match. The frame has extensive repairs to the bottom right which I'm leaving for the time being. since the pictures I've ditched the horn for a better one and mounted the generator and belt guard. I got the header pipes and need to complete rest of the pipes and install the chain and control cables and it's ready to fire up!

Not this year Dave, I'm going to be late getting there because of family matter, going to bring my '16 Indian K model and a few parts to sell.

I like it! Can't wait to see the finished product. Those tanks definitely have "the look".

Looks great Louie! It should be a fun bike to ride and enjoy. Hope you can get a good match on the paint, it's easier to do than you might think, what's the worst you can do, scratch it?

I've never saw this bracket over to the kick shaft before? Is it an option? Did someone make it? Anyone?

Beautiful bike, Louie. Any year Super X is a tough bike to do so my hat is off to you. Have fun, and ride the heck out of it.

Louie, I've seen a lot of Super X's and I've never seen a factory kicker support bracket. They start to easy to need one. Nicely made but not factory. Nice '25 Louie. They are so much fun to ride.
