    Henderson

Heads Up! This is advertised on the Smokstak site. It looks interesting & might be of use to a Henderson project. I know nothing about the engine or the seller.

It's a cut-off motor, Jack. It's sad how many Henderson, and Indian motors were butchered by aspiring aviators. Building an air frame is highly skilled work. Cutting off the transmission of a Henderson motor could be done by anyone with a hacksaw. Good for parts is about all it's worth.

Eric, Thank you for identifying the engine - probably expensive parts. You are correct on the hopeful aviators & sadly many such projects do not go much further than butchering an engine.

The aviation bug was very contagious back in the 30s, and even though I love old Popular Mechanics magazines, I think they were the inspiration for many dreamers to turn tons of fine machinery into junk. Between P-M, and WW2; it's amazing there are any old bikes left
