  • 1916 Emblem Big Twin, new find

    hi folks
recently discovered in a household clean out and short of all tinware. Of course it would be great to find the missing bits magically in someones loft but right now i'd love to touch base with anyone who has a similar machine so i can get some photographs etc.
I suspect guards were off the shelf items and commone to tohers, the brochure i have shows they're very similar to 18/19 henderson and all the ACE fours, with the exception of bracketry.....
    Alll help appreciated.
    Thanks
    Graeme

Thanks HAWG for that. Here's the conundrum I have. Here's a 1916 brochure for the emblem. Prior to this they had the American Stamping Company guards on them, pretty well generic to most other bikes built in the area at the time. Now these guards are considerably differnt, very much like 1918-19 henderson and all the ACE fours, BUT did they ever go into production like this?
I'd like to find early piccies or a bike of the time to confirm whether the brochure is actually what they were like.

That's one weird picture with those two guys on the side saddles. I wonder if the third guy sat in the middle and it was a threesome? Hell, they can all get married now. according to CNN, it's a beautiful thing! Bob L

nearly 500 looks and no-one is yet to point me out to an Emblem owner...
My first interest is to get photos which will take a bit of time and effort, any parts patterns measurements would be cool so is there someone out there ho wants to share their love of this marque? Surely we're all birds of a feather and have had help from others over time too.
                      thanks
                      Graeme
