You're right about the RS Cory; a real time machine. I've always wondered why the RS was not made in greater numbers, considering the quality of workmanship and advanced design. It's hard to believe they couldn't compete with the big 3 of the day. I guess it was just a matter of too many motorcycles and not enough buyers.

That s a real nice looking machine Cory.

Any idea what year it actually is?
IS that dented out number on the (tranny?) any indication.

Soooo what would something like this be worth ?

            Bob,

It looks like a 1920 to me but I'm certainly no expert on Reading Standards. As far as it's value I couldn't say for sure but I know if it sells it's not likely to be cheap!!

I see it's over 50 now and has met reserve. This one should be interesting. So Louie.... what did she say?

Richard Morris has several of them, I have been lucky enough to go ridding with him when he was on Reading Standards several times. They are neat machines and his perform quite well, was ridding with him around Palos Verdes last weekend and he was on a 20 Big X. Also a neat machine, fun to ride beside :-) That X was one of the machines that got stolen and he got back!

After he paid the ransom on it. In fact that was the second time that bike was stolen and ransom paid.

Yes Chris your right, I was amazed to hear. Richard had been through it twice with that machine. I don't want any of that kind of excitment I tell you.

I feel for you guys down there. I know bikes go missing all over but California has had more than it's share of thefts it seems.

this machine was listed previously as a model 1917 by Yesterdays.nl

                              http://www.yesterdays.nl/reading-sta...00-p-2313.html

Does someone know the relation enginenumbers/year of the Reading Standard?

I'm looking for parts like a rear hub and clutch/gear handles etc for a 1917. Any offers?
