  • AMCA Volunteer Judges and Staff Recognition

IMG_7188.jpeg As Event Chief Judge at the Perkiomen Chapter National Meet at Oley this year, I requested a group photo of all the volunteer judges and staff. The purpose of this request was to begin a much needed effort by the AMCA to recognize all the volunteer judges and staff who contribute to the success of the AMCA Judging Program.

Without volunteer judges who offer their expertise and time to each National Meet, the AMCA Judging Program would not exist. This photo is just a small way to recognize these volunteers publicly through this Forum.

Hopefully, other Event Chief Judges will do the same and add a photo to this thread of their respective meet volunteer judging teams and staff.

Volunteers are the life blood, and heroes of the AMCA. Thanks for the post, Richard. Without volunteers, this club would cease to exist.

With all due respect to volunteers, they indeed deserve recognition,

      But Eric,..

Your logic implies that the AMCA would cease to exist without the judging system.

      That's debatable.

Itb doesn't say "Without Judges" It says without volunteers. There is a hell of a lot of work done for the meets by volunteers. Judging is a small part of what the people donate their time to do.

Bless the staff no doubt, Chris!

But as a member since '88, and actively focused upon the restoration industry, it will be very, very hard to convince me that the system hasn't done more harm than good.

Echo the Pulp Fiction Travolta meme: Where did all the OP bikes go?

                Absolutely, Knuck.

The hobby can't attract new blood with such a backwards system, and frankly, even the old blood never really cared about it.

If you think they did, you were in a bubble.

I don't care about judging, I care about keeping my Chief's going, hanging out at the meets, the friends I have met along the way. I understand and applaud the others who eally enjoy that aspect of our club. We are all here because we're not all there!

Discarding judging didn't sting a bit.
