Currently, a 1940 Indian Dispatch-Tow is for sale on the ebay auction, and I noticed it has a 11 tooth Kickstarter with a 28 tooth gear(pinion) for a battery/distributor/coil ignition. Additionally, I've seen other 1940 Indian Chiefs with the same Kickstarter/gear used. I know from all the various Indian parts books I've seen list a 10 tooth Kickstarter with a 32 tooth gear when operating a battery/distributor/coil ignition.
The question for judging: Will the magneto kicker/gear be accepted, or will points be deducted as not original, or using the incorrect parts even though they are original?
