    De-rust to Re-Cad

I have 240 spokes with nipples to clean up before cad plating. I've been wire wheeling them so far and that works good but it's very time consumiing. I just put 40 spokes and nipples in a cheap Harbor Freight tumbler. I tried the tumbler once before and I was not impressed. Maybe I need to give it more time. Anyways, I was hoping someone out there has a wizard great idea on how to clean and de-rust large quantities of parts.

Give them a bath in muriatic acid. Rinse them thoroughly in hot water.

Chris, the muriatic acid bath worked great. I nutralized the parts in a baking soda bath after pulling them out of the acid to kill the process. The cad plating seemed to come out better than anything I've sent before as I see no little rust spots and the cad color is nice and even. Great tip.
