  • New paint

I have a 1966 Triumph Bonneville. I don't know a lot about paint, but I know that new paint is different stuff. I'm talking with a painter who is confident that he can get pretty close on color, but is quick to point out that a modern paint with clear coat over it is quite a different finish from what she left old England wearing. That doesn't bother me. If fact from a functional standpoint I like the idea of clear coat. What neither the painter nor myself knows is how much modern paint detracts from the value, if any of the machine. If I were to show the bike, how much is this a problem? Thanx.

A lot of problem. Single stage paints can be found if your painter takes the time.
