Guys once again I find my self in need of your info. Got a 56 frame in today that is powder coated. I’ve never blasted this stuff before. I called Marco and they really couldn’t narrow it down for me. For those that have done this in the past. What product and at what grit would take this stuff off with out pitting the frame. Sandblast sand
Once you get the worst of that nasty stuff off, use #30 mesh sand to clean it up. #30 is a fine grit that works well for sheet metal (carefull!, lower air pressure is safest) and other parts with light rust or paint. It's usually cheapest from building supply outfits (it's used for patching and sacking concrete). This grit will leave a nice smooth finish, and if the metal doesn't need other work, it's ready for primer. For heavier work use a coarser grit, #20 is next, then #10.
