Stan!
That's a trick question, right?
OEM cadmium varied. So no single fake finish, or even modern electroplate, can be perfectly *authentic* for all parts.
I have a couple of personal favorites, but one that seems to fill the bill with those who like a rugged finish upon chassis hardware is:
TRAILMOBILE Spray Enamel 700-99-45 "Non-Smudge Aluminum"
(1499 Jamike Ave, Erlanger, KY 41018 -1085)
Definitely gives hardware that "older restoration' look!

The bottom line here is that cadmium looks like cadmiun and paint looks like paint. Nuff sed.Be sure to visit;

Chris is right, naturally,.. just as modern paints will never look like the original paints either.
And face it, no two pieces of cad on an authentic machine should look alike anyway.
Modern cad can vary widely; Which three pieces in the attachment are fresh modern cad, and which single piece is 'genuine', among the fakes?
(Please ignore the 'nickel' in the back row...)
Even the best modern cad plating is still *fake*.
So,
Another great rattle-can finish to simulate cad is Sherwin-William's Duplicolor "Wheel Finish" STEEL WP316
(Duplicolor's Ceramic "Cast Coat" is a great fake parkerizing!)
But neither of the two that I have posted are my preference where digestive fuels are concerned.
