    1952 Red (Persian or Pepper?)

Hello! Perhaps this group can help me. When I bought my '52FL last October, I was told that the bike was re-painted at some point but with it's original color. I know that Persian Red was offered in '52, but the shade of red looks more like the '53 Pepper red. Could Pepper Red been offered late in '52 but not listed on the order blank? I included a pic. May it will help.

Then maybe it is Persian and the quality of the color pallets I see online are not the best.

Trying to match paint colors with on-screen representations is fruitless. I agree with vph-d that Pepper (also Fiesta) Red is more orange than the red fender shown in your picture, but there's no way to fairly compare the two colors on a computer screen.

When Lonnie was still running Antique Cycle Supply, I got some paint chip samples and had them analyzed. At that time, the modern paint that was a dead match for Pepper Red was called Subaru Toreador Red. If you can get a sample of that from the site I linked below, you will know for sure.

Again, the picture shown is not trustable. The actual paint color is the real deal

Thanks. Any idea what a modern match for Persian red would be?
