What's the best paper to dab? Glossy or matte?

Well, even though this Servi-Car has 45 cubic inches of high compression madness, I won't be racing it, much, so green is AOK by me. Besides, the WLA saved way more lives than it lost, green should be lucky.

PS: There's bells hanging all over the shop's screen door, but I didn't know they had a name;

I recall BUYING paint samples from Antique Motorcycle Supply in Michigan. The first samples I got were in the late '70s and approx. a. 2" square of paint on a quality manila type paper that didn't bleed the color sample. The second sample I got from AMS was near their final days and was a blob on absorbent paper, and useless. In their earlier days they sold quarts of paint and the grapevine said they did a good job of matching to original paint. . . How would anyone alive today know that a modern mixed color is correct to a color made 70 years ago; or even 5 years ago?

I still have most of their catalogs from various years. They used to have the paint samples at the back of the catalog. I took a few catalogs to Wauseon one year, for a friend to id his paint, and a Japanese gentleman seen the catalogs and offered me stupid money for them. I should have kept them tho'. You're absolutely correct Eric, those quarts they sold were really super close to the original paint. *(Antique Cycle Supply, Inc.. Cedar Rapids, Mi.)
