I've got an original touch-up tin of it, Clanky!
(Only opened for cotton swab samples.)
No modern paint can reflect the same spectra. The whole science of spectroscopy is based upon that.
So I guess its worthless.

They should have called it 'Poisonous' green, Folks.
And the late model funky green iridescent colors called "Chicken Guts".
Would the market have really objected?
Really?

When you only have a photograph as reference, (like horseshoes, and nuclear war) close, is close enough. I am trying to match Excelsior "military green" on my 1919 Henderson to a perfect Centari formula that was spot-on. Unfortunately, they don't make Centari anymore and the formula I have is about as good as learning Esperanto. In the good old days, automotive paint suppliers had talented people that could match paint with their eyes and 'obviously' that is the ultimate way to match color. Color is a very subjective concept for human beings, but by-and-large, most people see, and agree on the same colors so a talented color matcher person is a national treasure. Unfortunately, after 2 bad (expensive) computer color matches, I have discovered that human color matching is a rare talent where I live.Eric Smith

Hey Cotten....Is it still in liquid form?
If the color matched, they could call it puke green for all I care.
I tried having the 1974 Harley color of sunburst turquoise matched by computer, yikes, it wasn't even close, but they did match the off-white of the bat wing very close. So computer matching seems to work well on black and white, it's actual color that is the problem.

It certainly smelled poisonous when I sampled it.
Two paints of different chemical compositions can never reflect light the same.

The base coat makes a difference as well. Matching 1970 Sparkling Blue, white base coat did not work. After trial and error, it needed a silver base coat then the match was much better. Color matching and a good painter are priceless.

Base coat, good point. To paint this Servi, I need a quart and a pint, so should have a little extra, I'll have to do some testing on different colors of bases to see the difference, although my only reference are photos, short of some over-spray on the inside of my dash. You'd think H-D could have made a fortune in resto paints and parts over the years.
