  • Early Paint Tech

The following came from an early motorcycle trade magazine I have. If you think painting a bike today is tough, try and follow these brush painting procedures from the early years through the teens. I had a friend that was going to brush paint his Merkel using techniques similar to this. He had studied many early unrestored pioneer bikes and said they commonly had runs, and brush marks on frames, and forks.

I know I'll get better at posting photos, but right now it is very humbling to keep making mistakes. I think one of my favorite things about our forum is sharing pictures, and the effort so many members take to give visual images to the rest of us. So, I'll keep screwing up the picture thing with the goal of getting more proficient at properly posting.
