    Hello Folks,
    does anyone knows if the sheet metal from a 47 Knucklehead is parkerized under the paint ?

    I do know that the inside of the tanks are but the outside? Harley used that process as a cheap way to keep exposed parts from getting rusty. Sheetmetal would likely get painted fairly quick and not need it I would think. But hard to say.

        Great, thank's for answers.
        Actually I restore a 47 Knucklehead, of course I want to make a good job;-).
        What kind of primer they use and where I can get the best paint? Black, Flight red, skyway blue?

          Sometimes you can see and advertisement in the AMCA magazine for guys that can supply an exact match paint or sell a color chip. You can then use a local auto supply store if you want to match the chip sample. Various opinions on the "best" paint. PPG, Sikkens, Sherman Williams, Axalta, many body shops offer a lifetime guarantee with these for what that is worth to you.
