    Paint is easier to touch up :-)

    For my own bikes I use house of kolor graphic black and uc35 clear. Very, very tough, but too shiny for most.

    On bikes for resale or others, I like valspar black tractor and implement paint WITH valspars hardener. It's cheap, messy, but holds up really well and looks satiny black in a year or two of road use.

    I recently had my '64 xlch frame powder coated. Looks great, but shows surface scratches much more easily than paint.
