What type of plating are on my 1974 FLH brake pedal and mounting plate and how can I refinish them should I choose to restore. Thanks.

Cadmium plating. Almost non-existent today and mostly used in the airplane industry.

Zinc plating can be made to look like cadmium plating by altering to electrolyte solution(not adding the sugars). This can be done at home using a c or d battery.
