  • Johnson wax to protect original paint

I have read post on the forum that say Johnson wax helps clean up and preserve paint should I use soap and water first to clean it up its not too dirty I like the old patina. How about removing grease without harming bearings bushings paint or cloth wires my bike 68 FLH is pretty greasy on trans and surrounding area I had success with super clean on other things iam worried about the cloth wires and harness and swing arm bushings and getting in the primary at chain sprocket I don't mind a little grease but its filthy. Thanks for any advice

    Opikikao!

Please apply common sense with every application, of course.
Cleaning and preparation is always more time consuming than the final preservative.

There is little doubt that Johnson's Wax will do no harm.
It is an excellent threadlube, and Period Correct if nothing else,

Gentle heat, such as from summer sun or a carefull heatlamp, enhances its penetration and finish without buffing.
