removing old wax with out hurting paint

on my 74 sportster I had a stain I used sp1000 on the stain worked great but it also took off I think some of the old wax it left like white streaks when I wipe it down.The bike is up for winner circle it has some chips it is oem paint so I don't want to mess it up what should I use to remove the rest of the wax? thanks for all the help

Body shop supply houses sell a grease and wax remover that is used as a wash before sanding to refinish and also used as a final wipe down before spraying.
