Chris, are you doing a 1500 wet sanding to the color coat before applying the decal? If so, there will be a noticable dull outline on the decal's boarder when cleared over. On early factory paint jobs, they did all of their finish work before applying the decals, and then used a copal varnish to seal the decal. You will have to apply the decal to a finished surface. Your paint supplier should have a glazing compound that is silicone, and wax free.
