  • It just followed me home. I needed another bike like I need a hole in the head

    Haven't been able to work on the Indians. My son was pressed to get his home remodel done for a renter. Sooooooooo putting in long days and not a lot of sleep it's just punch list stuff left.. Then the B.S .starts . A friend of his knows a friend who's great aunts. best friends uncle on his mothers side twice removed parked his bike next to his Road Runner and kicks Bla Bla Bla WAIT WHAT WTF. a real Texas barn find Well It just happened. it just fell into place. There it was a 76 Shovel with 10,000 miles on original tires. yes there is a road runner, you can't look, touch or talk about it not now or ever. The bike, take it or leave it. I paid more for one WR cylinder then the bike, it turns over, has compression. tanks are clean also keys and a title. The women was not sure where the bags are and she's not going to look for them, me I don't care about the bags, I like the look as is

    Congratulations, Nice find, give hope they are still out there. I agree looks nice even without the bags (I would get a seat though or at least a cushion).

        Probably more than 10K miles since that is not the original speedometer. But if you got it for a song then it's probably a great find!

          Nice find. Might have originally had a police speedometer, judging solely by the painted headlight nacelle. Curious the story about the dual FX horns too. What are the first two digits of the VIN?

            first two numbers of the vin are 2A, It has A police seat and a pogo seat post and two toggles on the right backside of the nacelle marked flashers and spotlights.

              2A = FLH-1200, not police

                Couldn't it be police 1A=FL & FLP for medium compression & 2A=FLH for high comp

                  Maybe, IDK what the convention was in 1976, but there are separate VINs for police and shriners used somewhere in the 70's:
                  7H = FLH-1200 Police
                  8H = FLH-1200 Shrine
                  9H = FLH-80 Police
                  1K = FLH-80 Shrine

                        The horn on the frame leg is part of the Dual Horn Kit.

                          I just noticed the bike has horns on both sides, someone got creative.
