Yes, that is the "beanpot" in your photo.
They are far heavier than aluminum, and extemely difficult to weld-repair.
(The seller obviously had his mind on the jugs.)
Beware that both the cap and valve threads are different from Linkert, so if Linkert parts fit those holes, its been boogered. The pivot caps and pin will interchange with Linkert, and this is the only Schebler model that uses a Linkert design of float.
I have never encountered a bronze version; Schebler switched their motorcycle carbs from bronze to die-cast potmetal somewhere around 1930. The '40 version appears to be conventionally-cast, with a sandy grain.
They are somewhat common because it was the very last year, and the production was accelerated for the military, and with the switch to Linkert, many became surplus.
As far as I know, 1940 marked the very last production of Schebler motorcycle carburetors for American marques.

Extra reserve never hurt, and the previous die-cast bowls were indeed smaller.
But who knows what they were thinking?
There is only the military literature available. as far as I have found so far.
