I made a little jack to remove them.Just use allen screws and put little pads on the bottom of them so you don't mar the case. Here is a Crude drawing!

          push rod guide removal

Always preheat the case when fitting and removing items from alum including the pushrod guides as it is easy to broach (tear) material during removal or installation. 250 deg F is fine. I made up a slide hammer type tool that extracts to push rod guides from the case. When done, allow case to cool down very slowly. An oven is best. Do likewise after reinstalling. Being a bit harsh on the Harley guys aren't you. Their parts need loving too.

It's always nice to have the right tool. There are times though that I find a hammer satisfying..... even if it's only to throw across the shop......

                  Harleys can handle a hammering.

If you can’t fix it with a hammer, then it must be an electrical problem.
