65 FLH Rocker Arm Assembly Torque

Does anyone know the correct amount of torque for the rocker block assemblies?

The correct torque would be the spec that they were torqued to when rebuilt.

Try 16 to 18 ft/lbs and see if they bind.

Thanks Cotten. I had asked around, and I ended up tightening to 150 inch-pounds. In fact, one that I thought was binding slightly, was tighted to 125 inch-pounds...even this seems fairly tight.

Your comment, however, reminded me, of a time back in the early 70s. I was working on a 73 sportster, and did not see a spec for the cylinder base nuts. I inquired at the service bay of the local harley dealer, and was told to tighten them up till they break, then back them off slightly.

Just for clarity, "rebuilt" refers to the process of hone-fitting the blocks after they have been ground upon their mating faces to close the hole slightly. This must be done upon a stressplate to simulate the head casting. The torque spec applied must be also be applied upon installation, lest the blocks distort unevenly and bind.
