Nobody makes an aftermarket for those bikes & many originals have been cracked because of improper alignment. An option is changing parts to the later style -

I have an 89 Heritage and it's a one year only starter ( had to rebuild it because the inner gear broke in the 90's). The main shaft in the transmission is keyed and it's the last year they did that because it's a weak point (my clutch basket has cracked twice). In 1990 they copied Japanese technology and went to a splined main shaft which eliminated the cracking problems. However, each year EVO can have different inner primary castings. It is not an easy job to convert from year to year. Many parts involved from main shafts to starters to clutch baskets and starter clutches.
