  • Oil feed pipe and tranny 5th member screw

To the best of my knowledge, the oil feed line from the back of the oil tank goes inside the 5th member bracket that's welded to the frame (rigid frame). Has any one come up with a way to install the 5th member bolt so that it doesn't interfere with the line? I thought about making a spacer and using a longer bolt. As it is now on my pan, it's almost impossible to screw the bolt in place because the hex on the bolt repeatedly hits the oil line.

    Omarttentmaker,

Installation of the OEM style oil lines is a task that takes considerable amounts of time and patience.

Changing the bend angles, nipple-flare approachment angles (90° X & 90° Y) and bend radius is something I've had to do on any and all brands of lines I've ever worked with for over 35 years...

If given the time, done correctly, they won't leak, sweat, interfere, rub or constrict with anything.

I'm very aware of what you are dealing with at the moment.
So what I do is apply an off-set bend in the straight run area of the tubing in the area you are referring to. It's very subtle. It allows access for service required when making drive chain adjustment.

    Hope this helps,

    Duke Kleman
