  • transmission pushrod seal kit 48 WL

Good morning. What are you guys using for the transmission pushrod seal. I have just tried the oem WW2 37335-41. the large rubber ring was harder than a 6 day old donut.
Are the vtwin kits fresher or just surplus re wrapped? Also the Jims seal JGI 12019 looks pretty interesting, has anyone used this?
    Thanks

    Hi Tom,
By this time, and with 105 views with no answers, you are probably thinking you posted some nonsense b/s and you probably think with all these viewers and no one replying, you just couldn't wait any longer, so you ordered the Vtwin kit and the James seals. Well the Vtwin kit came to the door first, and yer just hankerin to get that bike back on the road. so the VT parts look to be a chinese kit with chrome cup, chrome washers, and little stiffer spring, with maybe a little softer rubber seal rings. The last one will be a pia to get in, but, have patience. Save those James seals if you have them, they usually come in after your done. Save them for the next time it leaks. I'll bet they work pretty nice being that you had to buy a pack of 5. Good Luck! OHH BTW, might as well put them new clutch plates in also that you got stashed, you cant take em with you!

Tom, I have used the surplus kit as found on the Bay with success. Maybe you just got a bad one, good luck.

            Thanks Architect
I got the second one installed from vtwin with no damage, a bit softer, but I just got the Jims seals in the mail, I am gonna try them next time, they look pretty good, modern lip seals
