I need a little help here, if a compression ring has a champher on the inside, does the champher go up or down?
    Thank you in advance; Dave

I would agree. Chamfer up......compression and combustion pushes ring outward against cylinder walls creating better seal. Chamfer down...oil blows by to combustion chamber. Paps

Hastings shows a picture of there popular 102 ring with the chamfer up.......but they also show a "reverse" ring with the chamfer down. I vote for up.
