M35 question

Hi, I have a rebuilt M35, I am restoring a 47 FL
I put my throttle cable on and new pins roller and blocks ,the cable is new allso
My problem is the throttle only opens half way or a little more.
I am stumped
my throttle is original and I swapped the spark control to see if that would cure it and it did not
any info , help would be great

You may have the wrong lever on the throttle shaft.

Not that I would know anything at all, but I had a similar problem when I didn't have the bracket for the throttle cable installed correctly. good luck

It was not in the correct position. It just needed to be in line with the lever, and as close as possible to the lever. Mounted securely. Hope this helps.

Please place the throttle shaft at fully opened position, (slot inline with the bore, with screwhead counterbores to the left, threads to the right), and rotate the throttle lever to where its stop contacts the 'tower' on the body casting.
Tighten the pinching screw with some play for the spiral spring.

It is best to do this before centering the disc for minimum daylight around it when fully closed. After installing the disc, the idle screw can then be adjusted to where the disc just starts to open, and the machine should be able to start.

If this does not help, please make certain that the 'spool' of the control wire sleeve is fully secured by the setscrew in the handlebar. If it misses the spool, it can move enough within the handlebar enough to reduce the throw of the throttle lever.

I worked the throttle grip real fast back and forth and the problem solved it self, may be to much grease in front of it, not sure I did find a plug inside the plunger and removed it and no play on set screw
Very odd but all is well now.
