Two of the four 12-24 threaded 3625 bolt holes on my M53-A1 carb that hold the air cleaner backing plate on are stripped. There doesn't appear to be enough surrounding metal to drill out and use a helicoil. Does anyone have experience using helicoil to repair these or suggestions on other ways to repair them?
