Kick starter does not return

    Kick starter does not return

    1947 Indian Chief...The bike will start but ... the kick starter will not return until I shut it off.??? What is involved with taking off the ratchet assembly. Any special tools?
    Any help would be appreciated.

      Dan, if you haven't already, try some light oil lubrication on the ratchet, there should be a hole in your chainguard right above the ratchet for this purpose. Worth a shot before resorting to disassembly!
