I am working on a 1977 sportster with electric start for a friend of mine, it came in with it being stuck in first gear. I removed the transmission and found the shifter arm had come out of the shifter pawl. I looked over everything and everything looked good and shifted fine, so I decided to go back together with it. now when I put the trans back in the transmission binds up and gets really tight or doesn't move at all when I tighten the bolts up on the trap door. I'm a mechanic by trade I just don't have any information or literature on this bike and I cant seem to find any helpful information so im hoping someone out there can help me.
