  • Public Service Announcement: Schebler DLX HS needles

    Folks,

Never, ever, remove a DLX highspeed needle and re-install it without removing the bowl to inspect its insertion into the seat!

Okay Tom, I won't. But while I got ya on the line I gotta ask: Do you make a float for a Schebler on a series I B John Deere? ... I'll get the model # if you think so ...... what's that you say, it's not an antique motorcycle? Well, it IS 3-wheeler, so maybe if I ask you in the "sidecars and 3-wheelers" thread? ..... yeah it's a little bigger than most motorcycle floats ... but bikes have grown a lot lately,

      fillibuster!

I cannot say that I have not, as I have 'one-offed' many tractor and auto floats for machines that I wouldn't recognize, even if it were about to run over me.

Please post me direct at liberty@npoint.net, thanks.

Just to bring this back up, Folks!

Here's one that shows an upset needle point as well.

          This is preventable...

            Look at this one, Folks!

The needle apparently vibrated and wobbled around enough to raise a burr around the seat.

Once dressed, how do you prevent it from further damage, if the knob's threads in the body are sloppy?

Now that you are all entranced, Folks...

Who remembers how L&L solved this problem?

What can we do for DLXs?

                Solved, Folks!

For GX and 1" models too, with a vent.

Now I can properly pilot my seat dressers for repairs.
(No more warning tags attached to HS knobs on DLXs going out...)

But aiming the 1" low speed needles seems virtually impossible?

The exposed high speed seat is hard enough to hit.
