  • 1911 Emblem Cam Timing

    Good afternoon guys,

We are in the process of finishing a restoration on a 1911 Emblem single, with the atomospheric intake valve. I am interested in hearing your opionions in regards to cam timing. Being a early Emblem, there is very little resources in terms of specifications. Mag timing should not be a problem. Any help would be nice!

    Thanks!!

You might want to try and get a hold of Frank Westfall in Ney York I believe. He has a few Emblems.

      Denis,
An excellent resourse when playing around with this early stuff is the Victor Page book "Motorcycles, Side Cars and Cyclecars." The most common edition around is the 1918 one.
If you don't require an original, Post Motor Books did a reprint in 1971 of one of the editions but changed the title to "Early Motorcycles, Construction, Operation, Service."
The Post reprint is generally between two thirds to half the price of an original and still has all the same info in it.
