I aquired an incomplete 31VL basketcase. My knowledge of VL's is limited, at best. I was able to score the correct headlamp yesterday. The generator is missing also and I don't even know what to look for. I do have Steve Slocombe's book and it is full of the kind of things I need to know but I haven't been able to find much info on the generator other than it is the predecessor to the ever common 32E. Any help with finding a generator or at least a good picture would be appreciated. Thanks! John Lindemann

Dear John, it is the size of the Model 32E generator but with no name tag, no terminal posts, and a stepped generator end cover. Similar to the 1929 and 1930/31 vertical generators on the small twin, but without the tags. If this is not to be a points bike you can fit the Model 32. Otherwise please contact me with a private message.
