  • Wiedenhoff Magneto/starter/generator test bench

I have a Wiedenhoff Magneto/starter/generator test bench. I am looking for instruction/parts manuals for it. I can't find a model number on it.

Remember that Harley generators turn counter-clockwise and many generator testers were set up for the more popular automotive clockwise rotation. The motor on yours looks like a brush-start Century motor that can't be electrically reversed. You may, however, be able to swing the motor around to the other side.

I have a similar tester (different brand), and it basically allows to set up an ammeter and voltmeter for the generator, regulator (if used), and battery. Mine also has a copper load strip to work the generator. A carbon pile is better because the load can be adjusted.

If you can figure out the basic wiring of the tester, you should be able to connect it to put the ammeter in series and the voltmeter across the battery. As you get it working, you can probably add more functions. Just being able to spin them up is half of the battle.
