Yesterday while searching for a good generator candidate for my 43E I noticed a couple of new pieces in the puzzle.
The first picture is of the 5 differences I noticed in the 32E generators - excluding lack of drain hole on WLA generators. Prior to this I knew of 3 differences starting from the left.
1st in line - VL and 1936 Knucklehead without a relief
2nd - machined in relief.
5th - cast in relief
The new wrinkle was discovered on the 3rd & 4th generator which both have a much smaller cast in relief than 5th in line does and I am not convinced that it can be chalked up to core shift.
Then when I got to looking a little harder at 4th one I noiced that it has been ground for even more relief than the cast in area gave it. I did not even pay all that great of attention to it until I noticed 2 more generators with the same neatly ground out relief.
Any ideas.
All 5 generators;
1,2 and 3
3, 4 and 5
3 & 4th
Anybody ever noticed this before.
