Friction Tape

Looking for a modern equivalent of friction tape used to secure wires on 60's Harley Davidsons...particularly a 1964 DuoGlide. I found various brands, but I think it is all non slip stuff, not what I am after. I think regular electrical tape would be too shiny...

I have used friction tape bought at Ace Hardware and Hockey Tape bought at sporting goods store. The all look about the same and much better then shiny electrical tape, good luck.

Just to be clear, I was asking about the tape used to lash wire conduit to the frame. I don't think it had a non-slip surface....

It seems like everything from Coroplast to Wallymart's is high-temp polyester cloth tape with a solvent-free acrylic adhesive;

When was that stuff invented?

The real thing was probably linen and 'asphalt', but they appear identical.

Check in the Palmer book. He gives the correct width. If memory serves its wider than the common 3/4” wide tape.
