Fender lamp

Looking for assistance in wiring a existing fender lamp on a 40 Harley EL. I have a colony wiring kit ordered and have read the instructions. I am not sure on hole location thru front fender. Any pictures, or descriptions would be appreciated.

I recently looked for the same information. Luckily, I live close to the HD museum. Took photos of the 47EL on display there. If you look closely at the photos of the red bike you can see the cad tube exit the fender between the springier legs, off center to the right side of the bike. Palmer describes this hole in his book. I drilled a hole in my fender. Heated the area red hot, used a drift to create the hole as described by Palmer. Hope this helps
