I found Todd Bertrang's 2 u-tube videos for 1938 UL showing most of the wiring without the tanks in place.This helps a lot for my this 1940ULH project.

Duffy I can not find these videos you mention for your 40 ULH. I am doing a 40EL. You think there would be a difference from a flathead to OHV?? 1938 to 1940 wiring difference?? If you still have access to the videos could you please send me a link to them here? Thanks Paddy

Roger, Don't know how much it will help but on page 630 of Bruce's second edition there is a picture of the dash area on an original "38 EL. The bike is the green '38 on the cover of the book.

Roger, that's not surprising. The forum is having problems connecting to the server. The AMCA sent out an email explaining it and they are working to get it fixed.
