I tried a couple jell cell batteries in my Pan a few years ago and they did not last but a year or so. I know they use them in the rubber mounted Harley's but they do NOT use them in the models that do not have the rubber mounts. I think it has something to do with the vibration (Harley's vibrate?). Of course this was a couple years ago, and the batteries might be better now. Just my two cents worth, the battery's may have changed by now.
