I just today fired up my '38 UL and saw something I've never seen before. Everything went smoothly until I snapped the wick a little, and my generator light came on. I turned the switch to the lighting position, and the light went off. Turned the switch back to the start position, and the light remained off. Let the bike idle for a bit, and snapped the throttle again, and the generator light came on again, and did not go off when the motor returned to idle. Turned the switch to lighting, and the light went off. Now I've seen that light go on at low idle with no lighting on my other bikes, but it goes off when the engine is revved or when you turn on the lamps. I've never seen one go on when the motor is running at anything but idle. Anybody, any thoughts on this?
