3 brush Generator question

Can a model 52 3 brush generator be used in place of a 32e on panhead

I see no reason why not. They both use the same cut-out relay.

I have been using a 52 for about 40 years in my 46 knuckle bobber with no adverse impacts. Others may know if there are any differences, as I'm sure there are, but it has worked for me with no trouble.
