  • Splitdorf Cover/End Cap???

Found this Splitdorf Cover/End Cap(?) at a flea market yesterday (only paid $1). Does anyone recognize this? I searched the web and the closest looking fit appears to be Splitdorf dynamos(?). It measures 2-11/16” (overall OD) and 5/8” high. The elongated diamond is riveted to the cover and is embossed with “Splitdorf New York”.
    Thanks,
    William

Fits the Splitdorf Mag-Dyno as used on Indian electric models, 1915-18 or so. Also on Excelsior electric models 1915 only. Was also available as an aftermarket item and could be fitted to other machines. This may be a very early one as the tag is riveted on, later were stamped right into the cover.

Here is a link to some info on the 1917 Indian electric model from my web site: http://www.splitdorfreg.com/Splitdor...nelectrics.htm
