model 52 generator help please

I had always thought the only generator for these old ones was the 32 e, so I got one. Now I finds out that's wrong. Costly mistake. Can anyone tell me the differences in the model 52 and model 52 K generators? I think the latter is the sportie/k model is a 2 brush, is it marked 52 k? Is there a way to tell externally if it's the k model if it isn't marked or has been incorrectly tagged by mistake? I see some have the tag and some are embossed. How do I know which is correct for my 57???

I believe the 52 K is a two brush and uses a three unit voltage regulator and the 52 is a three brush and uses a relay.

I have been using a model 52 in a knuckle bobber for about 40 years with no ill effects.
